Dr. Mark hails from Ipoh and began his early education in St. Michael’s Institution. Developed interest for medicine and went on to study medicine in Kasturba Medical College, India. His medical career commenced in Taiping Hospital. He then went on to pursue his master’s degree in surgery in Universiti Sains Malaysia Kelantan. He found his passion for minimal access surgery and obtained his Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from Strasbourg. He later went on to do his fellowship training in Bariatric & metabolic Surgery in Bangkok. He served in many hospitals before returning to Ipoh. Dr. Mark performs general surgical procedures ranging from breast, thyroid, stomach, small to large bowel surgeries. He also performs weight loss surgeries such as sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass and intragastric balloon procedures. Apart from general surgical and bariatric surgery he has interest in minimal access/ laparoscopic surgeries and hernia surgeries. He performs various simple and complex hernia surgeries as well as routine diagnostic & therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He has also experience in dialysis access surgery such as arteriovenous fistula surgery and laparoscopic peritoneal dialysis catheter insertions.
