Dr Saiful Bahari Kassim is a Consultant Endocrinologist & Diabetologist at Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur Hospital since November 2018. He qualified with honours in multiple specialties and Gold Medal winner in 1MB in Medicine in 1997 from National University of Ireland Galway. He was awarded FRCP(London) and FRCPE(Edinburgh) in 2013 and FRCPS (Glasgow) and FRCPI (Ireland) in 2020.
Dr Saiful has over 21 years experience working in the UK. He was appointed in 2008 as a permanent Consultant Endocrinologist in Causeway Hospital followed by Derriford Hospital, Plymouth England.
He was the head of Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology in Causeway Hospital.
He was appointed Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer in Queen’s University Belfast and Royal College of Physicians (UK) College Tutor for the Northern Ireland Deanery.
He was the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programme Director for Northern Health & Social Care Trust, Northern Ireland.
He was the RCP(UK) College Advisor for Northern HSC Trust, UK. He was awarded FRCP(London) FRCPE(Edinburgh) FRCPSG(Glasgow) FRCPI(Ireland) in recognition of his work.
He has co-authored clinical guidelines for Diabetes Foot disease and was the Lead Clinician for Diabetes Foot Group in Northern Trust, UK.
He has lectured nationally in the UK and in Malaysia. He has been or is a member of advisory panels, medical societies committees.
Since returning to Malaysia and working in Gleneagles Kuala Lumpur, he has become the head of department of Endocrinology and has won the Global Health Awards 2021 as the Endocrinology Service Provider for Asia Pacific as well as Diabetes Service Provider for Asia Pacific.
