Voon Penang General Hospital

Dr. Kelvin Voon is the Chief of Department of General Surgery, and Consultant Upper GI & Bariatric Surgeon from Penang General Hospital. He had his formal General & Upper GI Surgical training in Malaysia. He then completed the Fellowship in Endoscopy, Gastric & Esophageal Cancer Surgery in Shanghai, followed by Fellowship in Clinical Obesity & Bariatric Surgery in Taiwan. He is also a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the American College of Surgeons. His clinical interests include Upper GI cancers, minimally invasive esophagectomy, endoscopy, bariatric surgery & clinical nutrition. Academically, he is a visiting lecturer for RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus. He is the Asia Coordinator for The Upper Gastrointestinal Surgeons Society (TUGS) & committee of Malaysia Upper GI Surgical Society (MUGIS). He is involved in the training program of both general surgery & Upper GI surgery in Malaysia.
