Dr. Venkatesh Munikrishnan is Consultant Colorectal & Robotic Surgeon at Apollo Hospitals Chennai.Clinical Lead, Institute of Colorectal Surgery Apollo Hospitals, Chennai , Honorary Senior Lecturer in Surgery, University College London, Examiner, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK Highest Volumes of Robotic Colorectal Cancer Surgery in India Program Chair - Apollo International Colorectal Symposium, hosting the fourth annual meeting this year in September 2022 Co-Chair, Apollo Hospitals – Cleveland Clinic – University College London Hospital Colorectal Collaboration He has a special interest in the management of all colorectal diseases and has set up first of its kind Colorectal Clinic focusing on Robotic surgery in India. His group’s Robotic Surgery Programme for Colorectal Cancer is one of the busiest and highest volume programmes in India with excellent outcomes. Dr. Venky is trained in Surgery in the UK (FRCS & MRCS) where he also completed his Robotic and Laparoscopic Training. He also is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Surgery, University College London as well as Examiner, Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. He is a very keen teacher and is actively involved in teaching surgical techniques to post graduates both in India and in the UK. He joined Apollo Hospitals Chennai in 2012 where he went on to set up the Institute of Colorectal Surgery, and serves as Clinical Lead for the same. His main areas of interest are Robotic Colorectal Surgery, and to teach and innovate in the field of colorectal surgery.
