Ajayi Kaiser Permanente

Dr. Olakunle Ajayi was born in Nigeria and graduated medical school from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He trained at the USCF East Bay Surgery program in Oakland, California and then completed his fellowship in Colon and Rectal surgery at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 2006. Dr. Ajayi was in private practice in Kentucky for 6 years before joining the Kaiser Permanente medical group in Oakland, California. In addition to his medical degree, he has also earned a masters in Physician Executive MBA. He is the Chief of Surgery and more recently has taken on the role of physician in charge of the operating rooms and procedure suites in both Oakland and Richmond campuses. In this role he is responsible for ensuring appropriate and efficient utilization of the operating rooms across both campuses in Kaiser East-Bay California. He continues to have an active colorectal practice including robotic colon and rectal surgery. His joy is medicine is taking care of one patient at a time and always making a connection.
