Dr Yoong Boon Koon qualified his BSc(med) and MBBS degree in University of New South Wales (Aust) in 1996, completed his Master of Surgery in University of Malaya in 2006 and Clinical Associate Fellowship in Hepatopancreaticobiliary(HPB) Surgery and Liver Transplantation at Queen Mary Hospital in 2009. He established the University Malaya Medical Center Hepatobiliary unit in 2009 and started the Living Donor Liver Transplantation program in University Malaya Medical Center in 2017. He is current President of Malaysia Hepatopacreaticobiliary Surgeons Society(MyHPBS) and the Council Member of Asia-Pacific Hepatopancreaticobiliary Association(A-PHPBA). His main interest is minimally invasive HPB Surgery and is practicing as a Consultant HPB Surgeon in Sunway Medical Centre.
