Dr. C. Rajkumar Vinayak is a Consultant General &Bariatric Surgeon (special Interest : UGI): Pantai Hospital(s), Malaysia. He established the Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery unit for HUSM, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan in 2017. In 2021, he was accorded Fellow of Academy, School of Medical Sciences: Univerisiti Sains Malaysia, Malaysia.
He became the first surgeon in Malaysia and the ASEAN region to achieve the designation of “Surgeon Of Excellence in Metabolic and Bariatric surgery”(SOEMBS, SRC, USA). He is also accreditated by the International Excellence Federation (IEF).He was the first surgeon in Malaysia to perform STAPLELESS BARIATRIC SURGERY. His technical description of STAPLELESS SLEEVE GASTRECTOMY has been one of the outstanding contributions to the field of Bariatric Surgery. He was the first surgeon in Malaysia & one of the few surgeons worldwide who performed STAPLELESS GASTRIC BYPASS & its variations. He has vast experience in Revisional Bariatric Surgery and became the first surgeon in Malaysia to convert a RYGB to normal anatomy / LSG configurations).The above work has been presented at multiple international conferences.
